A bright and colorful hand-painted Moriyama ceramic plate with three divided sections. It measures 7 1/2 inches in diameter and is 3/4 inch deep. You can feel the paint on the flowers when you run your finger over them. This plate was made in Japan during the 1920s.

The Moriyama Pottery Factory was located in Mori-Machi in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. It was established in 1911 by Hidekichi Nakamura, who learned the art of pottery making from Seison Suzuki. Today, four studios continue the Moriyama tradition in and around Morimachi: Seison, Seizon, Nakamura, and Tame. This plate dates back to approximately 1926-1929.
